Black Girl Ventures is thrilled to announce the raffle winners for our collaboration with NIKE + WNBA for the official BGV Nike shoes. All proceeds from the raffle were donated to BGV. We all share a commitment to advancing women, and we’re excited to celebrate what’s next for women in business!
These shoes are replicas of the ones in the 2021 All-Star games. They embody the spirit of the journey we are taking toward breaking barriers and reaching for new heights in access to capital and opportunities for minority women in business.
Congratulations go to Tiyah Isom-Morris, Tiffany Arnold, Jennifer Miller, and Katie Kirsch.
We asked Tiyah and Tiffany what winning these shoes meant for them and what other ways can the world continue to support Black and Brown women-identifying founders.

Before entering the raffle, please tell us what was most exciting about the event?
The sisterhood that was shown and the support of women. All things WNBA!
Why did you feel compelled to contribute to the raffle?
Although I did not have much, I follow BGV and appreciate the space this organization holds and the conviction of its leaders.
What does winning these shoes mean to you?
Winning the shoes designed by Diana Taurasi was a huge surprise! I think she's great! Winning the shoes gives me much female pride and power! I wish they were signed, but I've put them in my curio cabinet anyway..lol. My godmother has a pair of Shaq shoes in hers, so I figured that's where they should go :).
What other ways do you support or feel others can support Black & Brown women-identifying entrepreneurs?
I enjoy it, and we need much more. Networking! Intentionally to share information, inspiration, guidance, and love with one another. I'd like to see the power of collaboration! Communities are pulling resources together to make a greater impact on the economic status of Black/Brown families.

Before entering the raffle, please tell us what was most exciting about the event?
I was only doing it to support BGV. I actually was an anonymous donor.
What does winning these shoes mean to you?
I can't actually wear the shoes because they are way too big, but I plan to put them in a shoe display container. Having them in BGV colors is dope to me. It shows me what hard work can do.
How do you plan to display these shoes?
In a shoe display case in my office area.
What other ways do you support or feel others can support Black & Brown women-identifying entrepreneurs?
Just by showing up and promoting the ones we actually support. People down us when we own our companies, giving us unheard of expectations that they don't do with other corporations. We should share the ones we support when we purchase things we like and continue buying, not just the complaints.
We are sending a huge shout-out to our winners; enjoy those amazing shoes. Anyone can support Black Girl Ventures mission to provide access to capital, community, and capacity for Black and Brown women.
