Black Girl Ventures Foundation (BGV) teamed up with Visa on its commitment to digitally enable 50 million small businesses through partner offers, street team visits, virtual education seminars and mentorship opportunities. Visa kicked off its six city (Atlanta, Chicago, Detroit, Los Angeles, Miami and Washington, D.C.), revitalization program in Washington, D.C. in June 2021 with the launch of commerce in a box – a curated selection of Visa and partner offers, discounts and bundles to digitally enable and empower small businesses.
Now, Pull Up & Pitch brings the pitch competition from the "business stages" to your neighborhood with a focus on normalizing business pitching, creating visibility for innovative ideas, supporting small business revitalization, and educating the public on how to ask for and manage finances. It’s a fast-paced highly entertaining two-round competition where Black and Latinx founders, small business owners, and entrepreneurs shoot their shot with a 60-second elevator pitch to access up to $30,000 in grants to grow their businesses on the spot!

Shoot your shot! No pitch experience necessary.
UNLOCKING ACCESS TO CAPITAL RESOURCE GUIDE
Supporting a woman entrepreneur is supporting generations of ingenuity.

BGV's mission is to provide underrepresented woman-identifying founders access to the community, capital, and capacity building to meet business milestones that lead to economic advancement through entrepreneurship. Many reports show that Black/Brown women-owned businesses have been disproportionately affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. We want to make it a point to support these business owners directly in their time of need and create opportunities now and in the future.

We believe in shifting the idea of community building from being viewed solely as a community service to a valid and viable business offering to ensure the development and growth of small businesses. We have developed this resource guide with you in mind to help you unlock access to capital and much more.
